Reviewing vs Not Reviewing

The first thing I look at for an offer is whether or not it’s selling elsewhere. Then, I’ll take a hard look at the sales page? Is it professional? Does it put me in the mood to buy?

If it passes this test, I’ll grab a banner for a prime location on my site. This method is for sites you have that get sufficient traffic for you to see whether visitors have any interest in the product before you spend the time reviewing it.

Should Your Articles Interest Humans Or Machines?

You Hear It All The Time

I want to talk about how you always hear big name bloggers talking about writing for humans and not machines. I want to dispel this myth for the startup blog and explain that if you have a million people coming to your blog, you can write about almost anything remotely topic relevant. If you’re starting out, you better make sure the machines can find you. Besides, who do you think the machines listen to? Humans. But….if your topic is not popular enough from an SEO standpoint, what makes you think a human cares about it?

Do You Mark Spam As Spam?

WordPress And Akismet

Anybody who uses WordPress probably uses Akismet.  Not only does it come with WordPress out of the box but if you don’t use it you’re buried in spam.  Every time I update my blog I check the spam to at least scan it to make sure there are no false positives. I rarely find any.

All In One SEO Plugin Odd Behavior

WordPress Quick Tip Alert

I wanted to give you a heads-up that the recent update to the All In One SEO plugin for WordPress is doing something you may not want. It has added two fields to the posts dashboard of SEO Title and SEO Description which can, one a lower monitor resolution, cause your posts to take up 3 times the screen real estate in the vertical direction.  It’s not a big deal, it just makes them hard to read.

I did notice another behavior you will want to pay attention to.
