TBIP 15: Social Media And Web 2.0 Traffic Techniques

June 7th, 2008 ·

This is the fifteenth installment of The Black Ink Project series.

In this series, I will be reporting on my participation in Jeremy Palmer’s webinar training course “The Black Ink Project“.

Background

For those of you that don’t know him, Jeremy is the author of the(now free)mega-hit ebook called “High Performance Affiliate Marketing“. In this book, he details how he went from barely showing a profit to a super-affiliate.

You can find the course outline and schedule here.

Today’s Topic: Social Media And Web 2.0 Traffic Techniques

Here are the areas covered:

  1. What is social media?
  2. Social traffic-what’s it all about?
  3. Web 2.0 pitfalls
  4. Why web 1.0 sites underdeliver
  5. Your web 2.0 strategy
  6. Affiliate marketing due diligence
  7. Web 2.0 structure
  8. Social media dynamics

Sign up at http://www.theblackinkproject.com for all of the slides, recordings and other visuals.

Highlights

Andrew Wee, of WhoIsAndrewWee.com taught today’s session. His focus was to cut through the hype surrounding social media and to show us how we can use it to our benefit.

My Top Take-Away

A good way to make a favorable impression on other social media users is to post links to strong content they have written on your social media site or postings.

Monday, June 16th Topic: Measuring And Analyzing Your Traffic

Next week will be an action week so there will not be any webinars until Monday, June 16th.
